SPRING TRAINING CLASSES

Please be sure to pre-register for classes. Sorry - no walk ins due to the fact classes are very small to allow for optimal learning and personal attention for each student.
Classes at the Paws-A-Tive Choice learning center are held indoors in the 7,000 sq. foot, fully matted, temperature controlled training

Through reward-based training, you and your canine companion will learn the necessary skills for maintaining a harmonious relationship. The dog training classes through Paws-A-Tive Choice are for family pets and are not based on training for dog show competitions. However, many students go on to compete because we teach the necessary foundation skills to set them up for success in a variety of dog sports.

Mojo loves that tunnelAgility Fun 101: Begins Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 7:15p.m.
This is a 6-week, 60-minute introductory class. Class limit: 6 dogs per class Class Fee: $95. A minimum of 3 dogs are needed to hold a class.
Agility Fun 201/301: Starts Tuesday, March 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.
This is a 6-week, 60-minute class for students and dogs that have 
Turbo doing the teeter tottersuccessfully completed Agility Fun 101, or have done agility before, but the dogs are not completely confident on all obstacles. Also helpful for students who are refining their handling skills. Class Limit: 6 dogs per class Class Fee: $95
Agility Fun 301: Begins Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. If your dog is an advanced agility partner and you want to continue having fun with your dog in a non-competitive environment, this 6-week, 60-minute class is a fun choice. If you are competing and would like another venue to rehearse courses with your dog, this could be the class for you. Class Limit: 6 dogs Class Fee: $95
Daun and Duke - Happy graduates of the K9 Good Neighbor ProgramK9 Good Neighbor Program: Begins Monday, May 13, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. This is a 6-week, 60-minute program focusing on skills necessary for dogs to live harmoniously within their home and in the community. If your pooch is 6 months or older and needs training in basic obedience or needs a refresher on doggy manners, this is the class for you and your canine buddy. We concentrate on the AKC Canine Good Citizen guidelines. Class Limit: 5 dogs Class Fee: $100 A minimum of 3 dogs are needed to hold a class.
K9 Scent Work-Fun 101 (Intro to Scent Work) Starts Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. This exciting, 6-week sport allows your dog to use his innate ability to detect scent and determine its source. This 60-90 minute class (depending on the number of dogs enrolled) is the introduction to K9 Nose Work. This is the beginning of teaching dogs to scent for a specific odor, which will be taught in advanced classes. To read more details, visit the Services and Classes page. K9 Scent Work-Fun 201 (Intro to Odor) Starts Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. This is a 
A Smooth Collie, Lady searches for the odor Birch in the K9 Scent Work-Fun 201 class.6-week, 60-90 minute class. At this level, we introduce the dogs to a particular odor to teach them to scent for that specific odor. Prerequisite: K9 Scent Work-Fun 101. Class Limit: 6 dogs Class Fee: $100
K9 Scent Work-Fun 301 (Continuing Scent Work) TWO CLASSES OFFERED: Beginning Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. AND beginning on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. This 6-week, 60- 90 minute class is a continuation of the skills learned in the 201 class. The dogs are now completely scenting for odor in different interior and exterior settings as well as vehicle searches. Prerequisite: K9 Scent Work-Fun 201. Class Limit: 6 dogs per class Class Fee: $100
Mike and Lilly, with their Golden retriever puppy, Maggie in the Puppy Love Beginner Puppy class.Puppy Love Beginner Puppy Class Begins Monday, May 13, 2013 at 7:15 p.m. This is a 6-session, 60-75 minute puppy class for pups 8 to 20 weeks old. The first class is 60-90 minutes without puppies. The remaining seven classes are 60-75 minutes, with puppies, of course. Class Limit: 5 puppies per class Class Fee: $130 A minimum of 3 puppies needed to hold a class.
Puppy Love Too - Advanced Puppy Class: TBD This 8-session, 60-minute class is a continuation of the Beginner Puppy class. Students build on the skills they learned in the first class and we introduce new skills to puppies to help solidify good behaviors that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. (Puppies 5 months to 8 months of age.)
Private training is also offered in Agility, as well as individual lessons in puppy care and training and adult doggy manners if your pooch needs a refresher on pet obedience skills or hasn't had training and needs some assistance.
