Spring is Here!

Hi, Friends -

Yes. Spring is officially here!

We are kicking off the Early Spring Session of classes the week of March 27, 2017. There is still space in a few classes, so if there is a particular class you want to get your pooch enrolled in, the deadline to register is March 24, 2017.

We are continuing to expand the programs at Paws-A-Tive Choice, LLC. We currently offer beginner and advanced puppy classes; adult doggy manners classes; Intro through Advanced Agility classes; Intro through Advanced Rally Obedience classes, Reactive and Shy Dog programs as well as Intro through Advanced K9 Nose Work classes. We try to offer something for everyone and you don't have to compete if you don't want to.

We teach all of our classes for fun, but also provide the necessary skills should one want to compete with their canine companion. Whether it is to get a CGC (Canine Good Citizen title through the American Kennel Club); compete in Agility, Rally O, or K9 Nose Work, you will learn the skills to help you and your dog be successful.

A few things on the agenda for this year so far: American Cancer Society's Bark for Life Event will be held on April 30, 2017 at Waterford High School in Waterford, WI. For registration details, contact Nancy Smith: nsmith@waterforduhs.k12.wi.us  I will be judging a K9 Nose Work ORT (Odor Recognition Test) on June 11, 2017 at Think Pawsitive in New Berlin, WI. Registration is still open if you want to enroll your dog in this ORT. I will also be a judge for the Waterford Chamber of Commerce Pooch Parade in Waterford, WI on August 19, 2017. More details to follow on this fun event.

As more events get on the schedule, I will be posting them here as well as on our Facebook page.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, more people will be out with their dogs. Be sure to keep your dog on leash and be respectful when out walking your dog. If your dog is off leash and you see someone coming, whether with or without a dog, call your dog back to you and leash him up. Your dog may be friendly, but the person and or on coming dog may not be as social. By being a responsible dog guardian, your actions will help prevent a potential problem. The more you can show good handling skills with your dog and show off his obedience, the better advocate you are for your dog and the benefits of training your canine companion.

Stay pawsative and remember to always train happy!

Kathy
